Born and raised in Los Angeles, Eric understands the culture of the accounting profession as well as anyone-as he was born into it. A second generation CPA, Eric went to San Diego State University to get a B.S. in Accounting. Straight out of college he spent nine years working diligently to define client value at a well-established large firm in Los Angeles, achieving partner at the ripe age of 30. He would go on to start The Brae, in order to work intimately with clients providing tax planning and accounting services in the forward-thinking manner he has become known for. His expansive experience with a diverse profile of clients guides individuals and businesses across a variety of industries and corporate structures. Eric serves as much more than a CPA to his clients, offering sage counsel, a breadth of knowledge and a valuable web of genuine and respected relationships. Eric used to sneak in a round or two on the golf course when he could and now mostly unwinds during his self-imposed reading hour. He is likely found spending quality time with Emerson & Kallyn at the beach, building some new gadgets and playing harmonica all while enjoying baby Parker, the newest band member.

David’s interest in taxes comes from both of his parents. His father was an ex IRS agent who earned his PA license in Oregon and his mother was a CPA. They both worked the family tax and accounting business on the Oregon coast. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a BS in Accounting in June 1977, David went to work in the family business. There was only one problem….the weather. So, in December 1977 he moved to Palm Springs (where it doesn’t rain) and began his accounting sojourn in the Coachella Valley. In 1984 he became a partner in a local CPA firm and in 1989 bought out the other partner and has been having fun ever since. David is a big picture guy and loves to do planning, solve problems and talk with clients about their issues. Just don’t try to get ahold of him Tuesday and Thursday mornings, those are reserved for his bike rides with his buddies. When not working or riding he and his wife Leanne enjoy spending time in their motorhome and seeing their 5 grown children and 16 grandchildren.
Born and raised in Southern California, Allie received her B.S. from California State University Northridge. Her roots run deep in Los Angeles and she is most likely to win a game of six degrees of separation. Before Allie entered the marketing world, she previously was in the sales industry. Yet she always managed to fall into a planning centric role, therefore her transition was a natural fit. Allie joined the team with one objective; to enhance the firm’s marketing efforts and outreach. Like a magician, her abilities stand out as she waves a wand over an idea and turns it into a well-executed and dynamic event. Although she often remarks that she isn’t a mind reader, she has an uncanny gift to look ahead and anticipating every contingency, turn each new endeavor into a success. Allie is also a dedicated board member of Concern Foundation for Cancer Research. When not immersed in the details of the next big project, she can be found planning adventures with lifelong friends.

Cynthia’s mother realized, before she did, that she was a natural fit for The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she began professional training for a degree in Fashion Design and the exciting work that she would do in that industry, particularly in Europe. She also has keen interest in the legal arena and completed a Legal Secretarial Certificate Program and paralegal certification program before becoming a legal secretary. Both industries require attention to detail and precision, whether it is the cut of a production pattern or the choice of words in a letter or legal document. As Firm Administrator at The Brae, Cynthia’s diverse experience has provided her satisfying opportunities to master new challenges and utilize her strongest skills working in the accounting field. She love to personally engage with clients to build and maintain a good rapport and ensure they always feel welcome. Outside of work, she often heads towards the trails or to the crashing waves at Laguna Beach. Hiking in the Allgäu Alps is another favorite memory of Cynthia’s, where only the sound of distant cowbells and the occasional call of a cuckoo bird broke the silence.
